Benefits of Trenchless Repair

The main water and sewer lines run the entire length of your property from the building to the street. You are responsible for the portion of the line that is on your property, so if it becomes damaged or fails, it is your responsibility to fix it.

Traditional pipe repair required the use of heavy equipment to excavate the entire length of the line to find the problem and repair or replace the damaged or broken line. This damage can be avoided with trenchless pipe repair in Southern California.

Reasons to choose trenchless pipe repair methods include:

  • Avoiding damage to your landscape
  • Environmentally friendlier
  • More cost-effective
  • Faster repair process
  • Affordable
  • Higher quality repairs

At Valley Plumbing, we use the best technology for diagnosing problems with your water or sewer line and trenchless sewer repair in Southern California. We use the most efficient and least invasive methods beginning with diagnosing the problem. Video camera inspection equipment allows us to view the inside of the pipe in real-time to pinpoint the exact cause, location, and extent of the damage.

How Trenchless Pipe Repair Works

There are two basic options for trenchless pipe repair: pipe relining and the pipe bursting method. The pipe bursting method involves digging access holes on both sides of the pipe that needs to be replaced. The new pipe is pulled through the old damaged pipe, which is burst in place. A cable is used to pull the new pipe and set it in place.

The pipe lining process involves:

  • Installing a liner inside the existing pipe
  • Digging one access hole to insert the liner
  • Pulling the liner into the existing pipe and inflating
  • Allowing the resin to cure for a few hours

When pipe lining is used, the diameter of the pipe is reduced by about a quarter of an inch, but this does not affect the operation of the pipe. The best method depends on the specific problem. Pipe bursting is often the best method for a sewer line that has collapsed. Pipe lining isn’t possible when the pipe is badly damaged or completely collapsed.
